Academic English can be very different to the English you use every day. Even if you speak English well in conversation, it might be difficult to understand the structures used in university or other academic setting.
An EAP program focuses on skills required to perform in an English-speaking academic context across core subject areas generally encountered in a vocational and/or a tertiary-university environment.[1]
You will learn to communicate with confidence and improve essential study skills. Learning activities focus on vocabulary development, oral presentation skills, research skills and web literacy, with an emphasis on the development of critical literacy and critical thinking.
Most of our colleges offering EAP courses have direct entry higher education partners. They include universities, colleges, Technical & Further Education (TAFE), Vocational Education & Training (VET) and Registered Training Organisations (RTO). These courses have pathways to masters, bachelors, and Diploma programs.
If you successfully complete Academic English, you do NOT need to sit the IELTS test to prove your English language proficiency to our direct entry partners!
